The Neighborhood Center Needs a New Bus!

Every year, The Neighborhood Center provides its students with bus transportation to our afterschool programs, Teen Leadership Academy, and summer Adventure Camp, ensuring that our students arrive at our programs safely without being exposed to the negative influences that can be found on the streets of Camden. But we have suffered a major loss and we need your help in order to continue our ministry with these precious children in Camden.

Just a few weeks ago our bus caught on fire, and we have been forced to rent a bus until we can purchase or lease a new one. We need to raise $100,000 for a new bus that meets state licensing requirements, and we need your help NOW – school is about to let out and summer camp is just around the corner!

We have launched a crowdfunding campaign through Indiegogo -  Click here (or on the link below) to check out our page and make a contribution to help fund our new bus; depending upon your level of support, donors will receive one of a variety of thank-you gifts. Even if you can’t contribute to our campaign, please share our story (and our need) with your friends and family online – copy the link below to your Facebook page or Twitter account, and give others an opportunity to invest in the lives of our precious children!

Adventure Camp is Starting Soon!

The first day of summer is only three weeks away, which means that The Neighborhood Center is abuzz with activity as we prepare for our summer Adventure Camp! This year’s theme is “Traveling Through Time” – students will begin the summer by exploring different cultures in world history through games, crafts, and other activities, and will end the summer by imagining what the world will look like in 2100. Throughout the nine week camp, we will also offer swimming lessons for our students, weekly trips to the Pine Barrens (thanks to our partners at The Pinelands Center at Mt. Misery), and a variety of other special activities designed to immerse our students in the natural world and provide them with a fun, enriching, and educational summer camp experience.

There are a variety of ways in which you can help to make our Adventure Camp a success – click here to download our Adventure Camp Support brochure and see what can be purchased with your donation to our Adventure Camp; to make a donation of sports equipment, craft supplies, or other materials, please contact Lisa at lisa@ncicamden.com for a list of what is needed.
