Volunteer
The Center has been blessed to play host to volunteers from near and far, including a recent group of young adults from Ireland. Both individuals and groups are welcome to help out for a day, a week, or on a regularly scheduled basis. Program volunteers have helped to set up and serve in the soup kitchen, read to the day care children, joined the fun and mayhem of our Summer Enrichment Program or participated in Bible studies with the senior adult women. A few local congregations have been known to gather regularly to prepare and deliver meals to the Center that are later served in the soup kitchen when supplies are low. Volunteers have also been put to work cleaning, weeding, painting, or focusing on a specific project such as installing a playground.
Much of our support comes from local churches and corporations and we are always willing to come up with a project that serves the Center's needs and best uses the skills and interests of our volunteers. We are grateful every time people show up eager to learn about what we do and ready to pitch in where needed. If you are interested in finding out how you can be of help to The Neighborhood Center, please e-mail us with dates and projects of interest to you.
